Frequently Asked Questions
  1. Why should your child attend D-ICON Cheer & Dance Camps? [+]

When it comes to determining your child’s summer camp choice it clear that parents, make the final decision when it comes down to their child attending camp. Cheerleading & Dance is not what is use to be. Our children are now athletes, lifting and throwing each other into the air, performing intricate choreographed routines and pushing themselves to the best cheerleader/dancers they can be. We understand budgets are tight and everyone is more financially conscious. We look at our cheer and dance camp as an “investment” into the education safety of our children. With this investment, a value that when explained, far exceeds the cost. Our training experience is the safest for your cheerleader/dancer to attend and a wise investment in your child’s growth. We believe that it takes experienced & professional educators to safely and effectively teach and train our children. For that reason, our staff is hand selected and flown in from different parts over the country specifically to work camps, workshops, and events for D-ICON. These are cheerleading alumni of some of the top universities in the country, some with national championship titles and all with years of coaching/training/instructing experience at high school level.

  6. What can we do for the Home Dance Routine? [+]

D-ICON offers a performance opportunity for all teams and organizations at overnight camps! The Home Routine is required at every event we attend. Each team participating will receive a written evaluation on their given performance. On the final day of camp during the Final Evaluations, all teams participating in the Home Dance Evaluation on the first day of camp will repeat their performance for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. (Some larger camps will offer awards by divisions/squad type.)

Guidelines for the Home Showcase Evaluation are as follows:
    - Routines are limited to no more than 2 minutes.
    - Tumbling is permitted.
    - Routines should reflect creativity, visuals, level changes and quick/smooth transitions.
    - Routines must be suitable for family viewing. No inappropriate music.
    - All music must be recorded on CD/mp3 and display the school name and team on the front of such.

  7. What qualifications do our coaches have? [+]

Our coaches all have extensive cheerleading and dance backgrounds ranging from high school, college, competitive and school coaching. All coaches are trained to lead camps and work with children in a loving way. Some coaches are CPR and First Aid trained and all coaches over the age of 18 have passed background checks.

  8. Can my parents come? [+]
